Zwar noch mit den alten Hasen Chris Karrer, Peter Leopold und John Weinzierl, doch in einer Zeit entstanden, als sich Amon Düül II bereits auf dem absteigenden Ast befanden. Was heute stört, sind die vielen Zugeständnisse an den damaligen Zeitgeist. Mit „Flower of the orient” ist ein zeitloser Klassiker enthalten, der auch heute noch auf der Bühne gespielt wird. Doch machten sich die beiden Neulinge Stefan Zauner und Klaus Ebert – zum Glück waren sie nur für die Hälfte der Stücke verantwortlich – leider mit ihren Mainstream- und Pop-Einflüssen unangenehm bemerkbar. Nichts gegen diese Musikrichtungen, aber auf einer Platte von Amon Düül II sollten sie eigentlich nichts verloren haben. Zur Entschädigung gibt’s eine ellenlange Bandgeschichte, Label-Repros, Abbildungen aller ihrer Single-, LP- und CD-Cover usw. Vom Mutterband. ---- Gestrichen, nicht mehr lieferbar.

Still with the old hands Chris Karrer, Peter Leopold, and John Weinzierl, but founded when Amon Düül II were on the decline. What is spoiling the effect today are the many concessions to the spirit of the times then. With “Flower of the orient” they achieved an almost timeless classic which until today is being played at gigs. Unfortunately the two newcomers Stefan Zauner and Klaus Ebert who were responsible for half of the tracks disagreeably attracted attention with their mainstream and pop influences. Nothing against those styles of music but on a record by Amon Düül II they aren’t supposed to show up. As compensation you can find a detailed band story, label repros as well as repros of all their single sleeves, LP and CD covers, discography, and a lot more.
