Wer kennt Joy Fleming nicht? Weniger gut bekannt ist, daß sie in den frühen Siebzigern anspruchsvolle LPs mit ihrer Gruppe Joy Unlimited herausbrachte, die mit dem, was sie heute macht, nicht zu vergleichen sind. „Schmetterlinge“ erschien 1971 auf dem inzwischen legendären Pilz-Label. Die CD-Ausgabe enthält vier Zusatzstücke von 1971: erstens den „Neckarbrücken-Blues“ in einer frühen Rundfunkfassung von Joy Unlimited, gezogen vom SWR-Mutterband. Dann „All heaven and all earth“ von der Pilz-LP „Heavy Christmas“, die den Weihnachtskult auf die Schippe nimmt. Und schließlich „Silvergun“ und „Peace train“ von ihrer vierten Single.

Who does not know Joy Fleming? Less known is the fact that in the early seventies she and her band Joy Unlimited released highbrow LPs that cannot be compared with what she is doing today. “Schmetterlinge” (butterflies) was released on the Pilz label in 1971. The CD edition comes with four bonus tracks from 1971: first the “Neckarbrücken-Blues” in an early radio version of Joy Unlimited; the master tape was provided by SWR Media. Then “All heaven and all earth” from the Pilz LP “Heavy Christmas” that makes fun of the Christmas cult. And finally “Silvergun” and “Peace train” from their fourth single.
